Brizy’s First Journey to Australia: A Harness Racing Adventure

Wow! That’s the feeling as we settle into our seats on the plane home after three unforgettable weeks exploring Australia’s harness racing scene. From the bustling tracks of Victoria and New South Wales to the expansive countryside of Queensland and Western Australia, we visited 12 tracks that left us in awe. The scale, the energy, and the warmth of the people made this trip a standout moment for Brizy.

“It’s incredible to see how high the standards are here,” Micke commented. “The tracks are phenomenal, and the environment around them is just as impressive—beautiful landscapes, friendly people, and a deep passion for the sport.”

Meeting Our Customers

One of the most rewarding parts of the trip was meeting so many of our customers face-to-face. Over the years, they’ve trusted Brizy to deliver harness racing suits and colours, often ordering online using their own measurements. Seeing our apparel in action and hearing how well it performed was a proud moment for us.

“It’s impressive how customers here in Australia get the measurements spot on,” Micke noted. “They communicate so well with us to ensure a great fit, even without visiting in person. It motivates us to keep improving our website to serve them even better.”

We also noticed an increasing demand for modernized harness racing colours and refreshed designs. “Many of the suits we saw were older, and helping customers update their racing silks with new, sleek designs was incredibly satisfying,” Micke added.

Insights from the Tracks and Stables

The Australian market has its unique challenges and opportunities. For instance, fit preferences vary due to the widespread use of larger safety vests. “In Europe and the U.S., customers prefer a tighter, more tailored fit,” Micke explained. “Here, adapting our designs to accommodate safety gear while still keeping a sharp look is a challenge we’re excited to tackle.”

Visiting the stables was another highlight. “The functionality of the stables here is remarkable,” Micke observed. “Outdoor boxes that protect horses while allowing them to enjoy the fresh air—it’s a setup that suits the climate perfectly and reflects a thoughtful approach to horse care.”

This trip also highlighted a specific product gap. “There’s a real need for lightweight summer trousers in this market,” Micke said. “It’s something we’ll be working on when we get back home.”

Building Connections

The success of this trip was due in no small part to the incredible people who helped along the way. “We owe so much to Anthony Butt and Kima Freningen,” Klas shared. “Their help with planning, introductions, and contacts at the tracks was invaluable. This trip wouldn’t have been the same without their support.”

Reflecting on the journey, Klas also emphasized the importance of Brizy’s digital presence. “It’s amazing to see how our website drives traffic and helps customers not only browse but also trust us enough to order directly. This trip proved that our online platform is a key part of our connection with customers worldwide.”

Looking Ahead

As we leave Australia with fresh insights and inspiration, we’re more motivated than ever to innovate and serve our customers better. From developing new products like summer trousers tailored for the Australian climate to enhancing our online experience, this journey has been a stepping stone for Brizy’s future.

Australia, you’ve been incredible—we can’t wait to return! Until then, we’ll continue to bring the best in harness racing clothing to enthusiasts around the world. Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come.
